Youth from Charlotte, Grand Ledge, and Gaylord are joining together.  The group will leave June 14, 2008 and stay overnight at a church and arrive at Back Bay Mission, in Biloxi on June 15 and work in various rebuilding projects through Friday.  The group will leave Biloxi, June 21 and return to Michigan June 22.

The cost is $300 per person.  Each participant will be responsible for their own meals on journey.  Lodging and meals at Back Bay are included in the fee.  The dead line to register is April 15.  Register on line now by clicking on register now! to the left of this box.  There will be an orientation meeting in late April for all participants and their parents/guardians.

Ruth Fitzgerald from First Congregational Church, Grand Ledge is leading this group and Damien Lake is an additional Chaperone. One additional adult advisor is needed it would be helpful if each had some carpentry/drywall/painting skills.

Youth entering 10th-12th grades who have a desire to serve as Counselors in Training (CIT's) are invited to apply for CIT Camp.  Potential CIT's should be a positive role model, have the ablity to work with chidlren or various ages, a willingness to learn and develop counselor skills, ability to work with others as a team, and a willingness to accept responsibility and previous camp experiencces.  CIT's will serve at camps throughout the summer as scheduled upon successful completion of the CIT Program.

If you believe you are ready for the challenge and joy of being a CIT you will need to complete the application process as listed below.

  1. Contact Marcia Beer to request an application form before March 1, 2008
  2. Upon receipt of your application form you will be contacted for a phone interview.
  3. You will be notivied before April 1 if you have been accepted into the CIT program
  4. Register prior to April 15 for CIT Camp.

The CIT program accepts up to 12 male and 12 female applicants for CIT positions each year.  Late applications will be considered on an individual basis as space allows.  Participants who have participated in the CIT program in previous years are NOT GUARANTEED acceptance into the program the second year.
