2008 Wish List for Camp Talahi

Your gift to Camp Talahi is important to everyone who attends a Camp Talahi program or event. Talahi offers a summer full of outdoor ministry opportunities for people of all ages. There are age group camps beginning with children in 1st grade through 12th grade. We also offer intergenerational family camps for families with younger children to gather in family groups for relaxation and fellowship.
Our hopes are that campers will make new and exciting discoveries of God and nature, experience fully a Christian community a part from everyday distractions, experience personal growth and increased feelings of self-worth, and be equipped to live and serve God in the world, as the Body of Christ. Our goal is to provide a positive Christian experience for youth and adults as a caring community within a natural environment – and your 2008 gift to Camp Talahi Wish List will help make this possible.
The 2008 Camp Talahi Wish List is a list of unbudgeted (but greatly desired) items that will be used to improve current operations and/or enhance the experiences of our campers. The VISION office works to match the interests of potential donors to the projects and items that are most needed by the camp.
Camp Talahi (as a program of VISION) is a qualifying 501c3 entity. All donations to the 2008 Camp Talahi Wish List are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
The 2008 Major Wish List Projects Are:
Construction of Steps to Ridgeview: Our old steps have reached the end of their expected lifespan, and although they are still safe, we are concerned that another year of heavy use might result in further decay. Therefore, we are hoping to replace these steps before the start of the summer camping season. The new steps will be constructed off the ground and will have handrails and safety lighting. Your donation will help us to complete this critical project before the 2008 camping season.
Anticipated cost: $6,500 Raised to Date: $1,600
New Metal Chairs for the Lodge: We hope to replace the wooden chairs that have served us for 30 years of hard use withy heavy duty metal folding chairs. These new metal chairs will be safer, more comfortable, and sturdier than the current chairs.
Anticipated cost: $2,500
Pull Down Movie Screen for the Lodge: A pull-down screen is a much needed accessory for our camper’s movie nights as well as the many educational presentations, retreats, and workshops that are held in the lodge.
